Geneva
Geneva is located between the Alps and the Jura mountains, in the far south-west of Switzerland and Lake Léman. The Rhone and the Arve are the two principal rivers which cross the region. The city of Geneva is located 373 metres above sea level.
A crossroads at the heart of Western Europe, Geneva enjoys a favourable geographic location, just a one hour flight from Paris or Milan, and less than two hours by air to London, Rome or Madrid.
Annemasse
The town is on the French-Swiss border, south of Lake Léman and within the Geneva urban region (the cross-border Geneva metropolitan area, known as the agglomération franco-valdo-genèvois).
It has a population of approximately 30,000 people. This metropolitan area, which includes twelve communes, is the second largest in Haute Savoie.

Yvoire
Yvoire is a fortified medieval village located on the banks of Lake Léman. The village is among the most beautiful in France. It is one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in French Chablais region. Every year since 1959, the village has been recognized in the Concours des villes ou villages fleuris (the “France in Bloom” competition) where it currently holds the top rating (four flowers). It has held the Grand prix national du fleurissement (Grand prize in floral decoration) since 1955 and received the silver medal in the 2002 European floral decoration competition.
Annecy
Annecy’s various nicknames include the Venice of the Alps, the Jewel of Savoy and Rome of the Alps, with its location in the Northern Prealps between the Bornes and Bauges mountains at the edge of Lake Annecy. Located on the banks of Lake Annecy, the city retains the magnificent heart of a medieval city.
On 18 March 2009, during the first round of voting, Annecy was selected by the Board of Directors of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee to represent France before the International Olympic Committee as a candidate to host the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
Chamonix
Surrounded by the Aiguilles Rouges (Red Peaks) mountains and Mont Blanc, Chamonix, along with Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, holds the record as the highest-altitude city in France. It owes this distinction to the presence of Alps’ highest peak, the 4,810 metre Mont Blanc, which it shares with the Aosta Valley. The commune is highly sought-after by skiers and those who love mountain sports in general. Because Mont Blanc is the third most visited natural area in the world, this important tourist attraction gives the city a cosmopolitan look.
Lac Léman
Lake Léman, sometimes known as Lake Geneva, is the largest lake in Western Europe. It is also the largest lake in Europe based on volume (89 km3). It has the shape of a crescent (or a comma); the north bank and the two tips of the lake are Swiss, while the south bank is French. The border passes through the middle of the lake. The lake is fished for its famous perch, which are renowned for their filets.
The lake is 73 km long with a maximum depth of 310 metres.
